Be respectful. Do not argue with coaches, players, or officials. Be supportive of teammates. Leave the coaching to the coaches. Remember that everyone makes mistakes; try not to dwell on them, but learn from them. Profane or abusive language and bullying will not be tolerated.
Listen to the coaches. When a coach is speaking, hold any gear still and keep your "eyes and ears" up front. Corrections addressed to one player apply to everyone. Try your best to work on the skills, drills, and techniques that we teach you. If you have a question, ask. If we're not able to provide an immediate answer, we'll address it as soon as possible.
Give your best effort. Try your best whether in a game, at practice or on the bench. Hustle from one place to another. Basketball can be a difficult game to play; don't stop trying when things aren't going your way. Work hard, to the best of your ability.
Take care of your equipment and facilities. Arrive at practices and games, with the proper gear. Use only your own gear or that gear provided by the team/league. Players must pack up team gear, collect their personal gear, and clear out debris and garbage after practices and games.
Accept your responsibilities. The coaches expect our players to arrive at the proper place and time, prepared to participate. While you don't drive yourself, it is up to you, not mom or dad, to remember when and where you have a practice or game. Make sure your equipment is ready the night before, not the moment you leave. Arrive ready to practice or play and demonstrate your ability to manage the roles and responsibilities you are assigned.
Have fun! You must know the difference between "having fun" and "fooling around." But remember, you aren't a professional player: If you aren't getting paid to play, you are playing for fun. Enjoy yourself.
If you have digital photos of our team you'd like to add to our site, please email me at crudo@fauxball.com so we can figure out the best way to pass along the images.

Basketball Books
- Youth Basketball: The Guide for Coaches and Parent by John P. McCarthy (Betterway Coaching Kids Series, 1996) - A great guide for players, parents, and coaches, this book is great at explaining fundamental basketball and provides a whole bunch of drills that you can do at home. This is one of the best all-round youth fundamental basketball book in my library.
